Princess Cruise Line's are about to launch a brand new system on some of their ships, and we can't wait.

The system is called OCEAN and will work much like the magic bands being used at Walt Disney World except it will go much much further.

The system will do much like you would expect like open your stateroom door and allow you to make purchases at the various shops on board.

But then it goes beyond that.  It keeps track of your cruise experience from cruise to cruise.  If you say took in an art class on one cruise.  it will let you know of any upcoming events that might have to do with that class such as a guest speaker or a shore excursion to an art museum.

It will know anything you tell it like you have a certain food allergy.  Do you like to have a soft drink with your dinner?  It will remember this and one will be brought to you before you even need to ask.
The staff will know who you are the second you sit down and can greet you by name even if you've never met. How welcoming is that?

There are still a lot of details yet to follow but one feature I'm looking forward to is the here and now theme.  Want some popcorn or a glass of wine for Movies under the stars? you can order it and the staff knows where to find you where ever  you sit.  In fact that goes for ordering anything. they can now find you and bring whatever you'd like.  sign me up.
